Tunisia-Barometer of political distancing: 79% of Tunisians distant from parties

Tunis Survey, a leading expert in online surveys and digital studies, has just issued the results of its political distance barometer.

Political distancing is defined by Tunisia Survey as ” A Membership or a choice that has yet to be determined regarding an existing political party. It makes it possible to be concluded following the degree of significance, proximity or the distance of citizens/voters in relation to parties in the Tunisian political scene.

This barometer is based on various waves of self-administered online surveys.

This 19th wave which stopped on November 15, 2021, keeps the same observation of the previous waves: Tunisians have irreparably turned away from politics. Even July 25 didn’t succeed in reconciling them with politics.
Through the question “Which political party are you closest to?”, It appears that 79% of respondents are not close to any political party.
Remember that this number has been maintained since wave 17 and wave 18. As a reminder, the peak of distancing of 74% was observed during wave 10 of the barometer.
Nothing helps: neither a frozen parliament, nor Hichem Mechichi and his team dismissed from their posts, nor the appointment of Najla Bouden Romane as prime minister with a new government team could restore the Tunisian’s taste to the Politics! The heart disease is severe!
