President of the Chamber of Commerce for Textiles and Ready-made Garments Mohsen Ben Sassi provided detailed information confirming that the winter sales season for the current year will begin on February 1 and will extend for six weeks until March 13, according to the notice issued by the Ministry of Commerce.
He emphasized to Tunisie Numérique that the law related to discounts has not experienced any modifications, and the “discounts” price cannot be less than 20%, reaching up to 60%. Ben Sassi called on traders to actively partake in the winter sale season to guarantee its success, remarking that this season will include diverse items in addition to ready-made clothes, such as shoes and other materials.
Ben Sassi underlined that the Chamber and the Tunisian Federation of Industry, Commerce, and Traditional Industries do not represent merchants who commit transgressions or mislead customers. He explained that according to Law No. 98, discounts do not apply to new goods that have not surpassed 90 days from their presentation in the commercial registry.
