The director of preventive health at the regional health directorate in Mahdia confirmed that the patient from Ksour Essaf who had tested positive for the Brazilian variant of COVID-19 had presented himself on his arrival at the port of La goulette, from Italy, with a vaccination certificate, and a negative PCR test result.
Despite these certificates, health control officials subjected him to a new test that detected the Brazilian strain.
