President of the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (INPDP) Chawki Gueddes affirmed that the authority will ask for clarification on prime minister Elyes Fakhfakh comment regarding monitoring Tunisians by using Phone Chips throughout lockdown.
In a statement to Shems FM, he said that the authority wasn’t consulted however,he said that tracking people movement without identity via phones does not fall within the context of touching on personal data.
He stressed the monitoring operation using people identify requires legal Authorization.
