Great news for everyone named Rostom, Yara and Majdoline you just became outlaws as Bizerte municipality has issued a list of banning these names and others.
The president municipality said that the subject matter is governed by a legal text specifying that it is forbidden to register non-Arabic names for newborns in the municipalities.
Speaking to Mosaique FM,he pointed out that the trend of non-Arabic names which has spread placed the head of the Civil Status Authority in the context of violating the law.
After consultations, calls to apply the law was requested with some effort to go back to the Arabic language dictionary.
What about names like Mariem , Jude ,ʿĪsā, Yaḥyā and Youssef all these names are used in Both Arabic and other languages. So We might ask the president municipality to just scan all names that are forbidden just like scanning cases for COVID-19.
