China reemphasised its pledge to support Tunisia in its fight against the coronavirus.
Health Minister Abdeltif Mekki received Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin on Monday to address the development of collaboration and partnership relations between the two countries in the health field.
The two sides reviewed the most beneficial ways to support coordination efforts between the two friendly countries in the field of exchange of experiences and the success of the Chinese experience in fighting the spread of the coronavirus.
The ambassador insisted his country readiness to stand alongside Tunisia in this delicate health situation and to provide the needed financial support in terms of medical equipment and materials to further strengthen the country’s capacities to apply its national plan to fight the virus.
The two officials also discussed ways to complete the construction of the new university hospital in Sfax, funded by a Chinese donation.
