Economic specialist Ridha Chkoundali revealed, in an official post, that the latest report from the Davos Forum 2024 identified 5 primary risks for Tunisia.
According to him, the Tunisian delegation in Davos must highlight the following points;
1- The economic recession and its effect on the capacity for wealth creation
2- The growth of public debt and its impact on the sustainability of public finances
3- Water shortage and its impacts on food security
4- The “fragility of the State” and the inability to control the growth of parallel trade
5- Inflation and its impact on the deterioration of purchasing power
“This forum is not a stage for negotiations with the IMF nor a chance to collect the financing required to fill the budget deficit for the year 2024, but rather an opportunity to present Tunisia as a business climate conducive to attracting foreign investors… countries that know the significance of this forum are preparing a year in advance by putting in place the necessary reforms…” .
