Fifty-three people tested positive for COVID-19 after 554 tests were carried out on samples taken from people suspected of having the virus, interim Local Health Director in Gabés Yahia Hamdi announced. He further reported the fifth death from the virus.
46 of the infections are reported in El Hamma and western El Hamma while the remaining seven are distributed in the region.
