Tunisia-Dahib Wazin crossing:Appalling working circumstances for security officers due to the emission of unpleasant smells after death of sheep in animal warehouse

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, interim  Secretary-General of the Regional Syndicate of Internal Security Forces in Tataouine Jamal Boucetta announced that the health of security personnel from different departments is endangered due to the situation he called as catastrophic, as unpleasant odours spread at Dahib Wazin crossing border about a week ago after of the death of livestock in the warehouse Animal confinement.

Mr Boucetta pointed out that the temperature of the weather raised the turbulence of the situation, which influenced the psyche of the security personnel, affirming that the local authorities of the municipality and agriculture department did not fulfil their responsibility and intervene to secure healthy working provisions for the workers at the crossing and those crossing it despite getting renewed calls to clean and disinfect the place, particularly since The health situation due to the spread of the Coronavirus entails constant cleaning.

It is noteworthy that the customs units to which the aforementioned warehouse belongs, place the cattle after performing the procedures for confining the animals and editing the tax records, then they correspond to the agriculture department or the concerned department to look at how to handle the seized and prevent its death as well as its impact on those present at the crossing.
