Tunisia-Davos summit: Saïed’s recommendations

President of the Republic, Kais Saïed, met this Monday, January 16, 2023, with prime minister Njala Bouden, the Minister of Finance, Sihem Namsia and the governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia, Marouène Abassi.

The meeting was dedicated to the examination of the Tunisian delegation program which will partake in the annual meeting of the Davos economic summit.

The President of the Republic insisted on clarifying the financial and economic situation of Tunisia. “A situation that cannot only be understood, depending on the figures and percentages,” according to the press release of the presidency of the republic.

“We must first take into regard the social conditions and the human factor which has rights secured by the State, such as the right to public education, to work which preserves dignity, housing, transport and Other rights included in the Constitution and in regional and international conventions. Factors that are not categorised according to a logic of gain and loss, as in the transactions of commercial companies “, adds the same source.

The Head of State also clarified that the financial balances that each country wants to keep are based not only on the criteria of income and expenses but likewise on the rule of social justice, as indicated in the constitution of July 25 2022, noted the same press release.
