Tunisia-Transport applications: authorities react

The Ministries of Transport and Communication Technologies said this Monday, January 16, 2023, in a joint statement that the fact that Yassir company calls for owners of private vehicles to join a specific application for the irregular transport of people outside the executive legal and without respecting the measures in force is considered to be a serious violation.

This sort of transport is subject to authorization. It likewise impacts the principle of loyal competition. The ministries concerned will therefore oppose this phenomenon.

The same press release affirmed that the use of applications in irregular public transport of people is accepted in principle because it participates in improving the transport service and brings it closer to the citizen. But their operators must respect the laws, mainly concerning vehicles and authorized prices.
