Tunisia-Egyptian banana at 5 DT/Kg marketed tomorrow…with electronic invoicing

The information was initially provided on February 21, 2024, by the Minister of Commerce, Kalthoum Ben Rjeb, and was later confirmed on March 11 by Ramzi Trabelsi, the Director of the National Supply Observatory at the Ministry of Commerce. Houssem Eddine Touiti, the Director General of Competition at the Department of Commerce, elaborated on this topic on Thursday, March 14, during an interview on Mosaïque FM.

He revealed the anticipated news for many Tunisian consumers: bananas imported from Egypt, priced at 5 dinars per kilogram, will be available in supermarkets throughout Greater Tunis beginning tomorrow morning. According to the official, these bananas will reach other governorates by the next weekend.

Furthermore, he noted that this product would be restocked three times throughout the day and would soon be available at “producer to consumer” sales points, as well as at all retail locations that implement electronic invoicing.
