The election of members of the National Council of Regions and Districts will take place on March 27, 2024, announced the ISIE through its spokesperson.
Mohamed Tlili Mansri, spokesperson for the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE), revealed on Saturday, March 16 to TAP that the members of the National Council of Regions and Districts will take place on March 27 and the results will be revealed immediately after the end of the counting of votes.
Mohamed Tlili Mansri specified that this election involves the members of the regional councils who were drawn by lot. They submit their application between March 20 and 22.
For the election of members of the second parliamentary chamber, three members will be elected from each regional council, in addition to the members representing the five district councils (One member elected from each district council), by Decree-Law No. 10 /2023.
Remark that it is the members of regional councils and district councils who will elect or be elected at the same time.
The election of members of regional councils will take place in the seats of regional bodies, while the election of members of district councils will take place in the seats of the governorates in question.
Concerning the filling of the vacancy in the various councils, Mansri clarified that it will take place after the establishment of the second parliamentary chamber.
