The vice-president of the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) Amira Mohamed revealed that the prosecution at the Anti-Terrorism Judicial Pole ordered the lengthening of the arrest of journalist Khalifa Guesmi. Amira Mohamed condemned the decision after claiming that her colleague had already begun a hunger strike to protest against the extension of his detention. “It is shameful to bring 3 reporters before the judicial pole of the fight against terrorism”, she wrote. In the same context, she called on journalists to protest next Friday to protect freedom of expression and of the press, blaming the President of the Republic for any attack on freedom of the press.
