Tunisia – Ghazi Chaouachi suspends hunger strike for health reasons

The Coordination of Families of “Political Detainees” reported on its Facebook page that politician and attorney Ghazi Al-Chaouachi, imprisoned for more than 11 months in what is called the case of conspiracy against state security, suspended his hunger strike.

It clarified that the decision to suspend the strike was taken in the context of “exposure to severe stomach pain from taking antibiotics and the fact that the prison physician convinced him to the need to immediately suspend the strike due to the possibility of him being exposed to severe complications given that he has already undergone surgery in which part of his stomach was removed and that he is suffering until now, from stomach ulcers.

The coordination revealed that Jawhar Ben Moubarak, Abdelhamid Jelassi, Ridha Balhaj, Issam Al-Chabbi and Khayam Turki are continuing the strike.
