Six Detainees of conspiracy against state security” reported that they would start a hunger strike starting, Monday, to demand their release and “the end of security and legal proceedings against all politicians and activists in society civil”.
The detainees, Issam Chebbi, Jawhar Ben M’barak, Ghazi Chaouachi, Khayyem Turki, Abdelhamid Jelassi and Redha Belhaj, demanded, in a joint statement” to raise their hands on the judiciary and to respect its authority and independence… because it is the sole guarantor of the establishment of justice and the rule of law.
They called on “all active forces to unite their efforts and raise their voices, loud and clear, to put an stop to the policy of harassment and intimidation, release all prisoners of conscience and cleanse the political climate in general” .
