Tunisia- Government grants official electronic mail and document

The government has made electronic mail and document official and has decided to oblige the use of official or business e-mail in administrative transactions as part of strengthening the legal system for electronic data exchange.

The government published Monday in the JORT, the government decree n ° 777 of October 5, 2020, relating to the fixing of the conditions, formulas and modalities of implementation of the provisions of the decree n ° 31 of 2020 relating to the electronic exchange of data between structures and their customers and between structures.

The government decision aims to lay the foundations for electronic management, which is one of the four pillars of the Tunisia 2020 national digital strategy intended to improve the quality of administrative services. This legal text aims to bring about a major transformation in the way the administration deals with the citizen and the institution.

The government decree stipulates that electronic authentication services consist of the exchange of the electronic messaging service, the acknowledgement of receipt and the reliable electronic backup service for the private account or on behalf of others, in accordance with the notebook charge of the electronic authentication service provider.
