The head of government, Hichem Mechichi, chaired this Thursday, March 11, 2021, a small ministerial council devoted to the examination of the Tunisair rescue program.
The council analysed the most significant axes of the rescue program developed by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. Hichem Mechichi recollected on this occasion the importance of the company and its central role in the national economy, in particular in the fields of transport and tourism, emphasising the government’s desire to do everything possible to guarantee that the Tunisair crisis is resolved.
He likewise considered the need to adopt a participatory strategic approach with the social parties, in particular the UGTT and Utica, in order to build a reform approach to subdue the structural difficulties and the preparation of the future plan of rescue of Tunisair. The head of government ultimately expressed the need to urgently approve means allowing the development of the activity of the company, in particular at the level of the support of air transport and tourist transport for the summer season.
