Tunisia – High Council of the Judiciary nominates Moncef Kchaou for the post of first president of the Court of Cassation

The high council of the judicial magistracy, presented, this Wednesday, its nominee for the post of the first president of the court of cassation. The post has been vacant since the suspension of magistrate Taïeb Rached.

The High Council examined the list of candidates who applied for the post, which included: Abdessatar Riahi, Moncef Kchaou, Basma Hamada, Mourad Makhlouf, Riadh Mouhli, Leila Hammami, Nazek Keda, Raoudha Garafi, Mohamed Imed Ben Abdeljalil, Zouheir Mejri, Jamel Mestiri, Taher Ben Turkia, Ahmed Rezig, Mondher Be Jaâfer, Abma Ezzahbes, Ahmed Rahmouni, Tarek Hannachi, Lamia Hammami, Thouraya Jeribi, Akrem Mnakbi, Mohamed Khelifi and Rached Kaâbi.

After examining the applications and taking into record seniority and functions, as well as specialization, the high council offered its final candidate, who was magistrate Moncef Kchaou.
