Tunisia-HuffPost Maghreb Ceases Publication

The HuffPost Maghreb has officially shut down its Maghreb version after six years of its launching, announced HuffPost on its website.

“As of December 3rd, HuffPost Maghreb will no longer be publishing content,” the site’s homepage read, inviting readers to visit the US version.

The HuffPost attributed the decision for strategic reasons, following the evaluation by both parties (HuffPost and MMG) of their presence and operations in these territories.

The brand HuffPost built in the region since June 2013 with the first edition in Tunisia, then expanded in Algeria before a Moroccan version began in September 2014. A license whose owner is Abdelmalek Alaoui, son of the former minister of State, Moulay Ahmed Alaoui, and head of Guépard Consulting Group since January 2015, specializing in strategy consulting and influence communication.
