Tunisia-Ibrahim Nafzaoui: “Poultry products available and reductions in prices of white meat have been approved” [Video]

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique today, Friday, March 8, 2024, head of the Chamber of Poultry Meat Traders Ibrahim Nafzaoui said that the production of white meat has kept complete stability for over a year and a half. He added that all required preparations have been made to meet the market’s diverse needs during Ramadan.

Nafzaoui further noted that several price declines for white meat will be executed this month. These reductions have been set in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce, setting a maximum price limit for ready-to-cook chicken at 8,490 millimes per kilogram and for turkey slices at 15,490 millimes per kilogram as the maximum prices. Further, the price for a set of four eggs has been fixed at 1,400 millimes.

He also stressed that the production levels have attained 12,400 tons of chicken, 6,500 tons of turkey slices, and around 25 million eggs. He highlighted that an agreement has been reached with various parties to determine the profit margin, guaranteeing that the pricing is fair and sustainable for both producers and consumers.
