The activities of the French-Tunisian University for Africa and the Mediterranean (French; UFTAM) was ceremoniously inaugurated in El Mourouj in the suburbs of Tunis.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Tunisian Minister of Higher Education Slim Khalbous and his French counterpart, Frédérique Vidal.
In a statement to Mosaïque FM, Khalbous asserted that the founding of this university, which he emphasised is not private, depicts part of the reformation of the Tunisian university in terms of international cooperation.
He also stressed that distinction is a fundamental feature of this university, the university will be providing innovative teaching environment to its students. They will further enable free registration and scholarships to several students.
