Several irregular immigrants residing in a quarantine centre in Cecilia, Italy, protested, rioted and vandalized the aforementioned centre, as more than 40 immigrants, including Tunisians, fled.
In a statement to Mosaique FM, the representative of Italy, Majdi Al-Karbai, explained that the riots occurred late night, and resulted in material damage to the centre and the injury of 3 security officers.
The deputy said that the migrants intentionally ignited broke the Glasses and the equipment of the centre before most of them fled. This comes after the continued detention of migrants in the aforementioned centre for more than 14 days, without providing clarifications about their fate.
