Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the regional director of Commerce in Sousse, Faouzi Taleb confirmed that the prices of vegetables are fair except those of pepper which have encountered a significant upsurge in recent days.
These vary between 3,800 and 4,000 dinars/Kg, according to him. He added that the usage of heated greenhouses is at the root of the increase in the price of this product. Taleb stressed that the cost of heated greenhouses is high, which justifies the increase in pepper prices in the market.
