The Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA) declared on December 18, 2020 that it encountered a severe breach in a program broadcast on December 16, 2020, on the unauthorized radio station of the Holy Quran.
The HAICA has indeed ruled this Friday, December 18, 2020, to transfer to the public prosecutor, the overrun perpetrated by the MP Said Jaziri.
HAICA estimates that this is a violation of article 46 of the Tunisian Constitution, linking to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women; and Article 11 of Organic Law No. 2017-58 of August 11, 2017, on the elimination of violence against women.
In addition, the Commission Council concluded within the meaning of article 5 of decree n ° 116 of the year 2011 and articles 14 and 24 of the Specifications relating to the obtaining of a license for the creation and the operation of a private radio station, to communicate an infringement warning to the private radio station “Nejma FM” regarding media content “packed ” with passages of insults and violations of human dignity in the episode Chakchouka Style aired on December 10, 2020.
