Tunisian justice, represented by the public prosecutor of the Court of First Instance of Tunis, has initiated an investigative delegation to the Central Financial Crimes Brigade of the National Guard in Aouina. The purpose of this investigation is to delve into suspected embezzlement within the company “Karama Holding,” focusing on the management of its seized assets, including real estate, land, and various types of movable property. The inquiry will also extend to irregularities in the transfer operations of these assets.
These actions come in response to President Kais Saied’s remarks during a meeting with Justice Minister Leïla Jaffel, where he highlighted corruption within “Karama Holding.” The president pointed out questionable practices, alleging a loss of integrity within the institution and the exploitation of the Tunisian people’s dignity. He cited specific examples, including undue advantages, fuel abuse, and exorbitant salaries received by certain members of the institution.
