Tunisia – Jaffel meets with Lebanese counterpart

The examination of several issues of common interest and the strengthening of partnership chances between Tunisia and Lebanon in the legal and judicial fields were at the centre of a meeting between the Minister of Justice, Leila Jaffal, this Wednesday afternoon at the ministry’s headquarters, with the Lebanese Minister of Justice, Henri Khoury.

They furthermore examined, according to a press release issued by the ministry, ways to develop areas of judicial cooperation between the two sides by working on the development and revision of the “Agreement on the Exchange of Judicial Cooperation, “execution of judgments and extradition of criminals between the two parties, the Tunisian Republic and the Lebanese Republic”, concluded between the two nations in Beirut on March 28, 1964, and ratified in Tunisia on March 16, 1966.

The ministry revealed, in its communication, that the Lebanese minister was accompanied by the ambassador of the Lebanese Republic in Tunisia, Tony Franjieh, and that the meeting took place in the presence of the chief of staff of the Minister of Justice and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
