Tunisia-Jihan Turki provides evaluation of various Tunisian dramas this season [Video]

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Journalist JihanTurki, who specializes in cultural affairs, shared her insights on the scope of dramas airing on Tunisian television during the current season .

Bab Al-Rizq: Highlighting Crucial Issues and Standout Performances

Turki remarked that despite a somewhat slow beginning , the series “Bab Al-Rizq” on National Channel One gradually revealed its key themes and the important issues it seeks to explore. She stressed that drama and cinema’s primary role is to provoke thought and discussion rather than offer direct solutions.

She praised the performances within the series, especially highlighting Kamal Touati’s and Asmaa Ben Othman’s notable roles. The latter portrayed the character of Narcissus effectively, with Khaled Houissa and Atef Bouzid also delivering commendable performances.

Rakoj: Abdelhamid Bouchnak’s Consistent Venture into Fantasy

“Rakoj” marks another cooperation between director Abdelhamid Bouchnak and Nessma Channel, following the success of the “Nouba” series. Turki observed that Bouchnak stays faithful to fantasy themes in his dramatic productions. She remarked on his continued cooperation with the Al-Ghaml team from “Nouba,” with the series “Rakoj” introducing new talents like Fatima Safar, who previously worked with Bouchnak in the film “Ebla.”

Fallujah: A Noticeably Slow Pace

Turning her attention to the second part of the “Fallujah” series on the Tunisian Al-Hiwar channel, Turki questioned the effect of one actor’s expected prominence on the series’ storyline and pacing. Despite several episodes, she cited a lack of development in the drama’s structure.

She voiced confusion over the series’ pacing, contrasting the slow unfolding of events in the current season with the faster-paced, dramatically rich first season.
