Tunisia-Kairouan hospital: wanting to recover the body of a loved one by force, individuals wreak havoc in the COVID-19 unit

On Sunday, November 8, 2020 – at Ibn Jazar university hospital in Kairouan, relatives of a deceased person who died from COVID  broke into the COVID-19 patient unit and vandalized the equipment.
A few days ago, these corresponding relatives wanted to discreetly remove the body from the COVID-19 unit, something they failed to do. Consequently on Sunday As soon as they arrived at the hospital, they orally and physically assailed the staff there. The tension was palpable.
Security personnel were dispatched to the scene. It appears, according to several reports, that the security personnel were targeted by throwing stones by relatives.
As a reminder, the 80-year-old deceased was initially transported to Al Aghalba Hospital in Kairouan when her health worsened due to COVID-19. She was subsequently transferred to the Ibn Jazar University Hospital Center. She passed away later.
