Security units in Kairouan succeeded yesterday in seizing enormous quantities of robbed motorcycles and apprehending the main suspect in the crime. As the police officers were about to raid one of the popular neighbourhoods, they were assailed by individuals throwing stones. The latter menaced the police with detonating a gas cylinder, according to Tunisie Numérique’s reporter.
After consultation with the public prosecutor, it was decided to place the primary suspect in police custody and to continue the inquiry with the judicial police brigade.
