Tunisia-Kais Saied: ‘The state has no religion’

Commenting on the controversy over Article One of the Constitution, president Kais Saied said that the state has no religion.

The President of the Republic asked, “Do states have a religion? Will the member states of the United Nations enter heaven or hell?”

He added that religion is the religion of the nation and the state must work to achieve its objectives, “noting that the state differs from the nation and states do not have religions.
