The Ministry of Cultural Affairs shared images from December 6, 2023, showcasing cleaning efforts at the archaeological site of the “Magon” district in Carthage. The district is situated along the coast and is undergoing excavation by German archaeologists led by Friedrich Rakob as part of an international campaign initiated by UNESCO. The archaeological site includes an area of the Punic city, and the historical findings have prompted Tunisian authorities to develop and open the site to visitors. Besides the remains, the site also houses a small antiquarian.
