Tunisia-Mahdia: Launch of 2023/2024 olive harvest season

Governor of Mahdia, Abdelfattah Chakchouk, inaugurated this Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the 2023/2024 olive harvest and processing season in the organic press of Mr. Najib Hamza in Al-Bradayaa, in the attendance of local authorities, economic representatives, and regional agriculture officials.

The visit closely followed the olive harvesting techniques, as well as the process of oil extraction employing traditional methods, and the operation of the organic press for the production and processing of organic olive oil. The region’s governor emphasised the significance of adopting modern practices for harvesting to ensure the protection of olive groves, while ensuring a high quality, healthy product is provided.

The forecast for the olive harvest this season in Mahdia is around 120,000 tonnes, the equivalent of 24,000 tonnes of oil.
