The Interprofessional Fruit Group (GIF) reported in a recently published press release that the export season for “Maltese” oranges has recently begun, with the first cargo of 700 tonnes destined for Marseille port, in France, the leading consumer of this variety of oranges.
GIF seeks to market more than 12,000 tonnes of Maltese oranges on the French market, which remains Tunisia’s leading polarized market.
The Tunisian Maltese orange is often regarded as the best orange in the world and it’s in season! It is grown exclusively in Tunisia in the Cap-Bon region.
