Believing himself wrongly accused in a corruption case, Mehdi Cherif, mayor of Dar Allouche, governorate of Nabeul, decided to prosecute deputy Imene Bettaieb, after accusations against him for the exploitation of the public domain, of intrusion on the property of others and violation of the environment.
It should be recalled that the mayor decided to create a forced passage on Kerkouane beach and to build agricultural roads, including that of Awled Sassi Kerkouane. However, he mentioned, Saturday, October 31, 2020, a very influential family in the region who are trying to prevent him from doing so.
He said the family in question, operating the Kerkouane beach for years, had requested the MP’s help to block the implementation of this decision and to prevent these projects.
