Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, deputy director general of the company Minerali Industriali Tunisia Kais Selim has today gone to explain the progress of the case.
“There is a new customs procedure which specifies the application of the tax according to the CO2 content, that is to say, the abuse compared to the exported sand.
‘Above 99.7% of the abuse content, the 100 DT tax applies. Otherwise, the tax would not apply. We do not have an official communication compared to the application of this tax but it would appear that it is the modification”.
“We have resumed our activities, we hope that we will have no customs blocking, ”he said.
It should be recollected that Minerali Industriali affirmed the closure of its units in Oueslatia and Kairouan after the tax on natural sand export and hundreds of workers who will lose their livelihood.
According to our speaker, Tunisian sand could be dismissed from the international market after this decision.
