Tunisia-Mongi Marzouk: Parliament didn’t pay STEG 200,000 dinars of electricity

Minister of Energy, Mines and Energy Transition, Mongi Marzouk announced that the Parliament owes the STEG an electricity bill of 200,000 dinars.

During a plenary session, he said: “The unpaid invoices to the Steg are of an amount which is approximately 200 million dinars of which nearly 50% concern public institutions and even the parliament which owes to the Steg 200 thousand dinars”.

On his part, Second deputy Speaker of The House of People’s Representatives “HPR” Tarak Ftiti said ” that the parliament has paid its bills and that it owes nothing to the STEG except perhaps very old invoices when the building was available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Presidency of the Government.

“Yes, it is true that invoices are old, the Parliament settled those between 2016 and January 2020 but there are still invoices for February, March and April,” said Mongi Marzouk.
