Notary bailiffs observed a general strike and a demonstration rally on Tuesday in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice.
Notaries are urging, in particular, the publication of a statute governing the profession in accordance with international standards.
The president of the National Association of Chambers of Notaries, Kaïs Kabada, assessed in a statement made to tap that the demands of the bailiffs are national and not sectoral.
The purpose is to codify the profession, protect it from intruders and give this body the place it deserves within the judicial service, he said.
The profession of notaries does not have legal protection mechanisms, he regretted, adding that the unemployment rate is high in this sector.
