Presidents of the parliamentary Blocs partaking in a remote meeting of the Parliamentary Laws Committee accepted the principle of delegation of power to the Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh.
The meeting was dedicated to proceeding review of the articles of the bill No. 30-2020 on the delegation of specific legislative powers to the PM.
The members of the committee supported a suggested reformation to the title of the bill specifying the “objective” of the delegation of power. The proposal is as follows: “Bill delegating to the Prime Minister the power to issue decree-laws to deal with the consequences of the spread of the COVID-19.”
With regard to the period of the delegation of power, it has been decreased to one month instead of two.
The suggestions concerning the ranges of the delegation of powers will be approved on Tuesday in the context of continuous work of the committee.
