Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi received Tuesday the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Tunisia Arnaud Peral.
The meeting focused on the UN’s work programme in Tunisia for the upcoming period “aimed to execute development plans according to priorities”, reads a Prime Ministry press release.
The PM Mechichi commended UN efforts in securing funding mechanisms for several projects and backing the health system and the fight against poverty. He likewise called for boosting social and economic partnership.
Peral declared the UN is willing to scale up cooperation with Tunisia, especially in sustainable development as he is coordinating the action of 23 UN bodies active in the fields of health, employment and social affairs.
