Prime minister Hichem Mechichi chaired, this afternoon of Friday, May 21, 2021, the periodical meeting of the national body for the fight against the coronavirus, dedicated to monitoring developments in the pandemic situation and assessing the measures adopted during this period in the presence of ministers, security and military leaders and members of the body and the scientific commission.
The meeting made it possible to examine the indicators of the pandemic situation at the national and regional levels which essentially involved the advancement of the national vaccination campaign, the age groups and the new social categories affected following the national strategy vaccination. The meeting additionally made it possible to review data relating to the rates of spread and positivity of tests, average deaths as well as the provision of hospitals.
In this context, the head of government allowed the consolidation of the vaccination campaign and its extension to encompass new age groups and categories in the following period calling for an acceleration of orders for new doses of vaccines to satisfy the needs. of the vaccination operation.
