Tunisia-Popularity barometer of the 3 presidents -8th Wave: The 3 presidents disappoint

Tunisia Survey, a specialist in online surveys and digital studies, has just uncovered the results of its popularity barometer of the 3 presidents.

This barometer is based on a self-administered online survey which took place from January 4 to 8, 2020. Its goal is to evaluate the satisfaction of Tunisian Internet users with the performance of the 3 presidents: Kaïs Saïed, Rached Ghannouchi and Hichem Mechichi.

It should be remembered that during the eighth wave of the barometer, respondents’ satisfaction with each of the three presidents was as follows.

  • Rached Ghannouchi 86% of respondents were dissatisfied with his performance;
  • Hichem Mechichi 65% of respondents were dissatisfied with his performance.
  • Kaïes Saïed more than 64% of respondents were dissatisfied with his performance.

For this seventh wave, the sample size after the screening is 1192 respondents.

Rached Ghannouchi: A record holder for unpopularity

The Speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People can no longer maintain his image. His unpopularity is in free fall. After nine consecutive waves of investigations, his unpopularity has not progressed, it is at an all-time low.

While his unpopularity was believed to have reached rock bottom in the 8th  with 86% of respondents dissatisfied with his performance, Rached Ghannouchi once again breaks his record of unpopularity.

Rached Ghannouchi ‘drops ’ 3 popularity points with 89% of the respondents being dissatisfied.

Kaïes Saïed: Second on the unpopularity podium

The President of the Republic was the most popular President during the sixth wave. Over 73% of respondents were satisfied with its performance.

From the seventh wave, Kaïes Saïed saw his popularity declined significantly since barely 47% of respondents were satisfied with his performance.

For the eighth wave, the decline proceeded since 64% of respondents were dissatisfied with the performance of the President of the Republic.

For this ninth wave, its popularity falls further, as 73% of respondents are dissatisfied with its performance, a popularity drop of 9 points.

Kaïes Saïed has gained over 3 successive waves a loss of 46 popularity points and accomplished the feat of going from 73% of satisfied respondents to 73% .

Hichem Mechichi has lost a lot of his charm!

Enchanting Tunisians during the seventh wave with 60% of respondents satisfied with his performance, Hichem Mechichi soon became disenchanted as 65% of respondents In the 8th wave were dissatisfied with his performance.

For this ninth wave, Mechichi lost 3 supplementary unpopularity points with 68% of respondents dissatisfied.

In 3 waves, the prime minister lost 28 popularity points.

The principal reasons for dissatisfaction are the lack of confidence and program:

For Rached Ghannouchi: 81%  are dissatisfied because they do not trust him. A course that has been sustained since the third wave.
For Kaïs Saïed: 63% of those dissatisfied are so because he has no program (he is flying blind).
For Hichem Mechichi: 55% are dissatisfied because he does not possess a program. Mismanagement of the coronavirus crisis is the 3rd reason for dissatisfaction at (41%).
