President Kais Saied greeted French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian at Carthage presidential palace.Le Drian extended the greeting of French president Emmanuel Macron and reaffirmed his invitation to Saied to visit France.
The meeting focused on the Tunisian -French alliance and the prospects of supporting ways to foster bilateral cooperation in terms of economic development, educational exchanges and projects with youth and civil society The two counterparts also cast the light on several international topics including the Libyan file.
President Kais Saied stressed Tunisia solid stand that calls to respect international legitimacy, especially the UN resolution 2259 (2015) and the necessity to transit from international legitimacy to enduring legitimacy that lies on the well of people. The president reaffirmed Tunisia readiness to continue to maintain peace and support all efforts to stop the bloodshed and preserve Libya’s sovereignty.
The meeting further tackled another subject including Tunisia position as non-permanent in the security council, including the Francophonie summit to be hosted by Tunisia in December 2020.
