“All the nation’s categories, women, men, children and youths, are ready for a new phase and a new edifice, for which the responsibility lies with President-elect Kais Saied,” interim Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) Abdelfattah Mourou declared on his discourse on the opening of the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Kais Saied .
Addressing Saied, Mourou said: “Mr President, you represent today the unity of the nation and people as well as the hopes, dreams and expectations of those who had fallen as martyrs during the liberation movement, the construction phase then the revolution phase, and those who cherish the love of the homeland in their hearts and their spirits.”
He estimated that Saied, elected with over 72% of the vote, has attained this degree after the expiry of the 90-day deadline and a round played by several parties, after the passing of President Beji Caid Essebsi and the organisation by the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections (ISIE) of the early presidential polls.
According to him, this process is the outcome of the energies exerted by the security forces, the national army, the media and the Independent High Broadcasting Authority (HAICA), reported the TAP Agency.
