Tunisia-Kaïs Saïed calls for stepping up security operations to stabilize the country

President Kaïs Saïed met this Monday, April 29, 2024, with Kamel Feki, Minister of the Interior, at the Carthage Palace to examine the national security situation. The meeting focused on the strengthened security operations ordered by the Head of State in several cities and neighbourhoods to guarantee respect for the law and to dismantle criminal networks that jeopardise the security of citizens and sow discord.

The president hailed the operations, which started after careful preparation and continued until this morning, for their efficiency. He emphasised the importance of continuing in-depth inquiries, transferring all files to justice and holding accountable all visible and invisible actors implicated in these desperate attempts to harm the security of the State and society.

President Saïed reaffirmed that the Tunisian State would stay vigilant and active against anyone who tries to compromise national security and public tranquillity, ensuring that law enforcement will continue to protect society against any form of disruption.

This initiative is part of the government’s continued efforts to maintain order and security in Tunisia, a subject of major concern for citizens and a central axis of President Saïed’s domestic policy.
