With the completion of the constitutional deadline, President Kais Saied is expected to announce the next designated prime minister today.
It is expected that the president will decide in the coming hours between contestants as stipulated in Chapter 89 of the country’s constitution.
President Saeid is required under the constitution to conduct direct and critical political deliberations with parties and parliamentary blocs before declaring the name of the new candidate.
