President Kaïs Saïed called for a new vision to confront the Coronavirus pandemic.
During an emergency meeting held with military and security officials to review the health situation in the country, the Head of State emphasised that the national responsibility is not based on political estimates, competition or rivalry, but entails the union of efforts and measures to be taken in the upcoming period.
- Abolition of the general/targeted lockdown measure because it has socio-economic consequences.
- Division of the national territory into sectors in descending order (from the sector most touched by the pandemic to the least affected)
- Deployment of security forces, medical and paramedical staff(public and military sector) in all public and private health establishments in Tunisia.
- Taking measures in deliberation with experts, depending on the development of the health situation
“We have to rely on our own means and we are capable of succeeding. Some actions were not taken on the basis of scientific recommendations, but to attend political interests, without the slightest concern for the health of Tunisians “.
