President of the Republic Kais Saied paid a visit to teacher Sahbi Ben Slama who is receiving treatment at the Military Hospital in Tunis, after being stabbed by a pupil. The teacher underwent surgery.
The head of the state talked with Ben Salama on his health condition, pointing out that the rise of violence in Tunisian schools is strange to the Tunisian society and unacceptable.
The true causes should be investigated, he said. He also emphasised the necessity of providing full support to teaching staff and educational institutions at all levels, evoking that Tunisia has made social progress in society over the decades.
