Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouchi told the German news agency yesterday that returning to the 1959 constitution is out of the question.

He believed that the peoples need to move forward, considering that returning to the 1959 constitution would be a step backwards for the people but further for Tunisia, not to consider the fact that the political regime in this constitution is a presidential regime. . With the constitution of 2014, the people opted for democracy and freedom which are the significant achievements of the revolution, added Ghannouchi.
