In an interview with Ennahdha Rached Ghannouchi told Al Quds Al Arabi,Ennahdha leader Rached Ghannouch said that the project of the head of the state Kais Saied endangers the stability of the country. “We are not confronting a battle of legitimacy but rather a coup. Saied’s project threatens to divide Tunisians, aggravating the country’s financial crisis and isolating Tunisia internationally, therefore the necessity for a national rescue program,” he said.
According to Rached Ghannouchi, the Head of State failed to maintain his promises. “The supporters who took to the roads on July 25 have disappeared. Saied attempted to mobilize the street again on January 14, but there were only a few dozen people,” adds Ghannouchi, emphasising that the national consultation proved Kais Saied’s low popularity.
